Are You Ready for Some iPads?

With all of the excitement (read: hype) surrounding the launch of the iPad tomorrow, online video platforms, publishers and advertising technology vendors have been spitting our a flurry of press releases announcing their support for the “it” device of the day.

TechCrunch has run a string of news from the OVP space including declarations from Ooyala, Brightcove, Kyte, and even video centric publishers like Break Media. We could have jumped on that bandwagon too. Instead, we made sure our customers knew and sent the announcement to them. I hope the team at Techcrunch doesn’t feel slighted by us. If they do, our deepest apologies.

But for the sake of SEO and putting the Twistage name in the same sentence as Apple’s iPad, we figured we’d blog about it. For the record, any and all Twistage customers are already enabled to publish to the iPad. For months already, Twistage has fully supported HTML 5. Even better, it doesn’t require our publishers to do anything. Not even a minor change to an embed code. We’ve supported all of Apple’s devices to date, and continue to do so. If you’ve been streaming to an iPhone or iPod Touch, you are good to go.

Instead of the mad scramble to finalize any changes before the the iPad debut, Twistage clients can get in line tonight or take their chances tomorrow on picking up one of these must-have toys. And once they do have one of these highly coveted devices, they’ll be ready to watch the latest celebrity gossip from Perez Hilton, or keep up with the latest business trends on FastCompany, or let their kids play with Mom or Dad’s new toy on KidzBop.

Good luck and happy shopping!
