Set it and forget it

Editing HTML requires some level of technical acumen, time, and quality assurance. Each time a website is manually updated, there is a risk introducing mistakes, not only typos in your web copy but also "bugs" in the page code itself. Therefore, the less often you need to edit your site, the better. Those are among the motivations for Twistage’s implementation of business rules, called profiles. In adopting an “embed once, reconfigure later” philosophy, Twistage has minimized manual processes like the modifying web site pages.

A Twistage embed code typically only needs to be placed in a website once. The embed code contains an identifier for the content to displayed and a profile identifier describing how the content should be displayed. When a user visits a page containing the widget, the widget will contact a Twistage server in real-time to find out how it has been configured. Once it's been embedded, anything you want to change about your widgets can be done from within the Twistage management console. A simple point-and-click change in the console automatically propagates down to the embedded media.

Media Player

One of the most commonly used Twistage widgets is the digital media player, typically used for including video or audio clips in your website. Every aspect of the player experience can be customized using our player profiles. The built-in players supported by Twistage can be completely skinned using a point-and-click interface in the management console, so that they match any website's look and feel. Custom logos can appear over the corner of the player as a watermark; player control buttons can be added, removed, reordered, and colored; the controls can be set up to automatically hide when full-screen mode is activated. A variety of other settings can be altered, too, such as enabling different types of analytics, advertising or even choosing a different type of content delivery. In fact, the entire player itself can be swapped out for a different player -- including a player built by you -- without ever having to touch your website.

Ingest Wizard

For websites that allow users to upload their own content, the ingest wizard makes integration turnkey. The wizard is an easy-to-use embeddable widget offering a simple upload process and optional metadata/tagging capabilities. The ingest wizard is designed to plug in seamlessly into any website with a rich set of theming capabilities. As with the embeddable player, the ingest wizard can be completely customized by configuring its corresponding ingest profile within the Twistage management console. In addition to cosmetic control, it can also be completely localized into any language. After embedded the wizard once, there's no need to modify your website and change the embed code, even as your business requirements change.

Automated Content Ingestion

Our suite of content ingest APIs make automatic content ingestion simple. Whether the content is located on an organization’s server or on a remote server or device, the API is designed to meet specific requirements. The APIs are also built on the same profile foundation as the ingest wizard. This means that it's easy to customize the rules for processing incoming content, such as which devices and formats should be supported, from within the management console. Once your code is written to work with the Twistage APIs, further customization of the ingest process is as easy as point and click.
