Twistage Core Rich Media Framework

Serving as a foundation upon for the entire Twistage solution set, the Core Rich Media Framework is a hub that binds together ingestion, encoding and management of digital media content. Built on a REST-based web-service API, the Twistage Core Rich Media Framework gives users the ability to ingest their media assets and manage their content through robust metadata management and organization. Using a point-and-click management console, non-technical users can easily search and sort their content, whether their goal is to dive into analytics, kick off actions like transcoding jobs, or schedule content expiration dates. And since the management console is built on top of APIs, content can be managed programmatically as well. This allows for unmatched automation and tight integration into existing CMS solutions. Whether organizations are working with video, audio, or images – in any combination – the framework provides tools and turnkey integrations specifically designed to automate and simplify the complex processes surrounding media management.

Ingest
Push or pull content into the system. Web-based tools, desktop tools, RSS/XML import. Enforce time or duration-based quotas.

Describe
Specify the metadata values for individual content items as well as content groupings. Define custom metadata fields that map to your organization's specific requirements.

Manage
Place content into libraries. Group content dynamically according to criteria (tags, metadata, upload date, popularity, etc.) or create your own custom playlists.

Encode
Establish encoding profiles for video and audio that specify bitrate, codec, container, and more. Leverage multiple encoding services via the encoding plug-in system. Dynamically set the height, width, and format type of photos and other images.

Store
Place digital assets in the storage location of your choice, be it on-premise, in your datacenter, or in the cloud. Set up business rules to control the level or redundancy, to target specific content to specific storage locations, and more.

Deliver
Define how media assets are distributed – CDN, internal network, etc. Control whether content is pre-cached or pulled at request time from an origin. Set up profiles to set parameters around delivery protocol (HTTP, RTMP, RTMPT, etc.). Choose from pre-integrated players and ad partners or upload and use your own.

Report
Log into the web UI to see graphs and data or use the Twistage API to programmatically pull down analytics about playback, data transfer, user engagement, geo-reporting, ingest, and storage. Activate or de-activate 3rd-party analytics services.

Provision
Set up new CDN and storage entries. Spin up and down cloud resources like ingest servers and transcode servers. Scale the size of your infrastructure up-and-down in real-time.
