The Twistage Core Rich Media Framework has a pluggable delivery model, enabling – among other things – turnkey CDN activation. Organizations that have contracted with a CDN can continue to use them without worrying about integration or setup time. Twistage serves as a middleware component to connect a variety of delivery methods to every Twistage player and API. Regardless of which CDN is delivering your content, you'll find that Twistage behaves the same way. The fact that Twistage manages the technical integration with each CDN in a uniform fashion means that if an organization elects to change to a different CDN provider, it's as simple as a configuration toggle. There is no code to write; even player embed codes can remain unchanged.
For organizations with more complex content delivery needs, Twistage can be configured to use different CDN and even non-CDN options simultaneously. For example, an organization might have three classifications of content with three different delivery requirements. One group of content might be delivered by one CDN. Another group of content could be delivered by a second CDN. Finally, the third group of content might not be delivered outside of the organization, obviating the need for a CDN altogether. This content can be delivered via internal infrastructure. The Twistage CDN abstraction layer makes it easy to use different delivery methods for each group of content as desired.
