Content Ingest Tools

Whether an online video is captured directly from a broadcast, uploaded via a web browser, or recorded straight from a user's webcam, video ingestion is always the first step in bringing a video online. Using the Twistage platform, publishers are given various methods to upload their video into the backend management system. Along with the standard in-browser upload capabilities found within the Twistage console, users can use a batch uploader tool to upload entire content libraries from a desktop application, set up "watch folders" to ingest rendering files in an automated fashion, as well as give their users the ability to upload a video through any third party site with an in-browser embeddable widget. Organizations can further extend these experiences by leveraging Twistage APIs.

In-Console Upload

Within the Twistage management console users are able to ingest their video files with a simple point-and-click infrastructure. The user interface supports metadata input as well as still frame/thumbnail selection and requires no configuration to get started.

Embeddable Ingest Widget

Allow users to upload their videos directly into the Twistage management system from any third party site. The widget is completely customiable to fit the dynamics and aesthetics of an organization's site, offering a consistent, brandable experience.

Batch Uploader

For users with larger libraries of videos/audio files, the Twistage batch uploader tool allows users a cross-platform desktop application that simplifies the process of uploading files in bulk.

Watch Folders

Available as an option in the batch uploader tool as well as deployable scripts, "watch folders" allow organizations to monitor files and upload them automatically when specific criteria are met. This is particularly useful when rendering a video file from a non-linear encoder. Rather than waiting for it to finish, users can simply set up a watch folder and know that the content will be ingested when the render finishes.

Import

Organizations that have already published or archived videos at some web address can simply paste the URLs into the Import tool. This will result in Twistage's downloading, processing, and indexing all of the listed files.

APIs

As with all elements of the Twistage product, the ingest solution is built on top of a robust set of APIs. These APIs power the mechanisms above and also enable developers to incorporate Twistage into their existing workflows.
