The Twistage advertising options have been incorporated into the feature set in a modular, consistent fashion, making it straightforward to turn advertising on -- or off – at any time. It's even possible to enable advertising for your existing videos without changing a single line of code in your website. Through the user of Twistage player profiles, the configuration for your player is centrally configured within our management console.
The simplest way to get started is by plugging into an ad network. Twistage has partnerships with many top video advertising networks, including Google AdSense, Tremor Media, and Adap.tv. Once you choose a network, all that's required is to edit your Twistage account and supply your ad network account information. Our modular player profiles take care of the rest; ads will literally “just work.”
If you're planning to sell your own ads, we recommend using an ad server such as DoubleClick (DART), OpenX, 24/7 RealMedia’s OAS, etc. Ad servers like these provide you with the ultimate in flexibility over exactly how your ad should be laid out, which formats are supported (overlay, preroll, midroll, companion banner), when they should appear, and what criteria should be used for success tracking and targeting. As with our ad network integrations, it's simple to add advertising to your Twistage player by updating your configuration. No code changes are required on your own website.
Twistage is pleased to join the Interactive Advertising Bureau's (IAB) efforts to offer a unified standard for describing advertising content. Video Ad Serving Template (VAST) is a schema, created by the IAB, that's designed to improve interoperability between players and ad servers. Through the use of VAST, programmers creating new video players can write their code to a single API and connect to any VAST-supported ad server. Twistage is proud to offer a VAST-compliant solution.
