Content Syndication

In your organization, syndicating content out to other sites may be a nice-to-have feature, a way to drive additional revenue, or the entire reason for your business' existence. Once your content is registered in Twistage, sharing it with your partners is simple. Individual videos can be sync'ed with the click of a button within our management console. Going further, you can set up recurring business rules to automatically syndicate incoming content.

Pushing content out to social networks

The best way to distribute your content virally is to hook into all the top social network and blog sites. Through a partnership with TubeMogul, Twistage allows you to point-and-click to select the distribution channels that make the most sense for your videos, including Facebook, YouTube, Hulu, Dailymotion, Howcast and Metacafe. Syndication can be enabled for all videos or for a subset of videos contained within a single library. You can set up your Twistage account to automatically send new content out to the partner sites of your choice, but it's also possible to retroactively syndicate out content that's already been registered in Twistage.

Pushing content into YouTube

If you're going to choose a single site where your content will get the most exposure, YouTube is the place. The world's leading video site has a built-in integration with Twistage, allowing you to automatically upload new Twistage videos into YouTube. Metadata for your videos, such as the title, description, or keywords, is also updated in YouTube, allowing you to manage your content from one place.

Pushing content to a custom site

When your content isn't designed for mass consumption – or needs to be protected – Twistage custom syndication can be perfect for syndicating content into one or more sites of your choice. The Twistage core platform makes available various hook notifications which can be triggered at various points throughout the video lifecycle. By registering listeners to find out whenever new videos are available, or when videos have been changed, you'll guarantee that your syndication partners receive real-time updates whenever your content library changes.

Pulling content into a custom site from Twistage

In some circumstances – for example, if your server is behind a corporate firewall – pushing messages into the server may not be an option. In these scenarios, a “pull” approach is the recommended strategy for syndicating content in Twistage. Our customizable feeds make all of your content metadata available to any authenticated server. Such feeds are dynamic and updated in real-time, so that they always reflect changes to your content library over time. Using our chameleon API layer, you can even customize the format of any of your feeds to match a desired output format, allowing any server, device, or appliance to integrate seamlessly with Twistage and access your content.
